The 2024 Omega European Masters is set to begin on Thursday, September 5 at the Crans-sur-Sierre Golf Club in Crans Montana, Switzerland. The DP World Tour event is part of the continental Europe run of the circuit’s schedule.
The Omega European Masters will feature a 156-player field. Being played in its originally intended slot on the schedule, the event will feature several DP World Tour regulars including Alex Fitzpatrick, Alexander Bjork, Nicolas Colsaerts, Francesco Molinari and Rasmus Hojgaard.
However, the event will be headlined by World No.26 Matt Fitzpatrick and No.50 Nicolai Hojgaard. They will be the only two top-50 Official World Golf Ranking players on the field.
Coming off of a disappointing FedExCup playoffs outing, knocked out after the BMW Championship, Fitzpatrick will be eyeing a big comeback at the European event.
Notably, the event’s reigning champion Ludvig Aberg will not return to defend his title as he announced his decision to undergo surgery post-Tour Championship.
The European Masters field will compete for the $3,250,000 prize purse on offer. Apart from the paychecks, the winning golfer will also bag valuable ranking points.
