Day two of the Solheim Cup came to an end on Saturday, September 14, at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club in Virginia. Team USA leads the event, with Allisen Corpuz and Nelly Korda making history for their country.
Korda and Corpuz, nicknamed "Team KoCo" by fans, won their fourth consecutive Solheim Cup foursomes match on Saturday morning. They won the two they played in 2023 and did the same in 2024.
It is a historic mark for the American team, as never before had an American pair scored four points in foursomes. Nor had an American pair ever scored four consecutive points in the history of the event.
At the end of the pairs matches, three American players had three points out of a possible three. They are Nelly Korda, Rose Zhang, and Lauren Coughlin.
The day ended with each team scoring four points for a total of 10 points for the United States and six points for Europe.

What's next for the 2024 Solheim Cup?
After the results of the second round, the American team only needs 4.5 points out of the 12 points to be played in the individual matches on Sunday.
That would give the Americans 14.5 points, the minimum needed to win the Solheim Cup. The USA has not had the trophy in its possession since losing it in 2019.
Looking at the matter from the other side, Team Europe needs to get eight out of the 12 points in contention on Sunday to tie and keep the trophy. According to the rules of the event, in case of a tie, the team that held the trophy will keep it.
Europe won the trophy in 2019 and repeated the feat in 2021. In 2023, the event ended in a draw at Finca Cortesin, Spain, with Europe retaining the trophy.
So far, the captains of both teams have not revealed how Sunday's singles will go. A year ago, Europe won five singles matches, four of which could be replayed at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.
At Finca Cortesin, Leona Maguire beat Rose Zhang, Anna Nordqvist beat Jennifer Kupcho, Maja Stark beat Allisen Corpuz and Carlota Ciganda beat Nelly Korda. The fifth European win came from Caroline Hedwall (who is not participating in this edition) against Ally Ewing.
