The much-anticipated women's team golf event, the Solheim Cup, is back with another thrilling edition starting on Friday, September 13. The tournament will feature foursome and fourball formats during the first two days, followed by head-to-head singles matches on Sunday.
The event, which consists of teams from Europe and the USA, kicks off with Friday morning's Foursome matches. In this format, two players from each team will pair up to compete against the opposing team’s duo. The team players will take alternate shots, and the team that completes a set of holes in the fewest shots will emerge victorious.
The action begins at 7:05 a.m. ET, with Team Europe’s Esther Henseleit and Charley Hull taking on Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz from Team USA. Meanwhile, Linn Grant and Carlota Ciganda, who gained attention for her incredible 2023 performance, will pair up to face Lilia Vu and Sarah Schmelzel.
From Team USA, Rose Zhang will pair up with Lauren Coughlin to play against Celine Boutier and Albane Valenzuela of Team Europe, while Ally Ewing and Jennifer Kupcho will compete against Emily Pedersen and Maja Stark.

2023 Solheim Cup first Foursomes match recap
Last year at the Solheim Cup, Team USA shone brightly, taking an early lead by winning all of their first foursome matches. In 2023, Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz paired up against Leona Maguire and Anna Nordqvist, winning the match 1 up. Meanwhile, Danielle Kang and Andrea Lee defeated Celine Boutier and Georgia Hall, also by 1 up.

In the previous edition, Team USA started strong, taking a 4-0 lead on the first day. It will be interesting to see how they perform on home soil this time.
Notably, on the first day of the 2024 Solheim Cup, there will also be a four-ball match in the afternoon. However, the tee times and pairings for the event have not yet been announced.
The Solheim Cup is a three-day event, which will conclude with the final on Sunday, September 15.
