Next up on the DP World Tour calendar is the Spanish Open, which will be played from September 26 (Thursday) to September 29. As the PGA Tour slows down during the fall to reset for the next FedEx Cup season, the DP World Tour has some of its biggest events. That includes this one, and there's a good amount of money at stake, too.
There is $3.25 million at stake for the field, and whoever wins this prestigious tournament will take home a paycheck of just over $500,000 according to Today's Golfer. The winner will also get 500 Race to Dubai points and 1,500 Ryder Cup points.
The prize purse is down a little bit from prior DP World Tour events. The last two, the BMW PGA Championship and Irish Open, had $9 and $6 million purses respectively.

Big names set for Spanish Open play
The Spanish Open is notable for a lot of reasons, but it is perhaps most notable in 2024 because of Jon Rahm's quest to play in it. He is on LIV Golf, which means he is not on the DP World Tour. Despite that, he has fought tirelessly to get into this event and others on the DP World Tour.
He appealed and was granted entry to the field this weekend as part of his crusade to make the Ryder Cup. Rahm said it would be a disservice to himself and Spanish golf not to let him play.
He is not the only LIV Golf member in the field, though, as Tyrrell Hatton will also join him. It's Hatton's second DP event since leaving for LIV. Other stars in the field include Tommy Fleetwood, Shane Lowry, Victor Perez, Matt Wallace, Matthieu Pavon, and Patrick Reed.
