The top 30 golfers with the most FedEx Cup points qualify for the Tour Championship. The players also get a starting stroke advantage depending on their position in the points list. Scottie Scheffler, the points leader, started with a significant -10 advantage, while Xander Schauffele, ranked second, began with an 8-stroke-advantage.

The advantage decreases down the points list, with those ranked at the bottom receiving no advantage. This advantage plays a crucial role in shaping the leaderboard and adds an extra layer of excitement to the Tour Championship.
