Bryson DeChambeau began the final round of the 2024 U.S. Open with a three-stroke lead. However, Rory McIlroy was able to overcome that difference and put up a fierce battle against DeChambeau.

The Northern Irishman was several times ahead on the US Open leaderboard, even with a two-stroke lead at some point. However, DeChambeau was able to manage the round to reach the final holes with a chance of victory.

McIlroy missed a three-foot putt for par on the 18th hole and then bogeyed the hole. This gave DeChambeau the chance to win the tournament by making par on the same hole.

It was no easy task, as his second shot landed in a bunker. However, DeChambeau managed to get out of the sand with a masterful wedge shot that left the ball less than five feet from the hole. He finally got the putt and the US Open title.
