2024 Veritex Bank Championship: Highlights
The 2024 Veritex Bank Championship is only playing its second round but has already witnessed several highlights.
Frankie Capan III fired a first round of 13-under 58 to tie for the second-best all-time score on the Korn Ferry Tour. Capan III also beat the course record, which was held by none other than Scottie Scheffler, by one stroke.
Capan III also tied for the second-best all-time score record in all major golf tournaments in the world (tied with several other players). The leading score at this level (57) was also achieved on the Korn Ferry Tour by Chile's Cristobal Del Solar.
The young prodigy Miles Russell surprised everyone again with a first round of 3 under 68 (four birdies and one bogey). With this score, Russell moved into the middle of the leaderboard and has a chance to make the cut on the Korn Ferry Tour for the second week in a row.
Russell made headlines a week ago when he finished in the Top 20 at the LECOM Suncoast Classic with a 14-under score and two rounds of 66.
