The 2025 Farmers Insurance Open is set to tee off on Wednesday, January 22, at San Diego’s Torrey Pines. The competition, being held across two courses - the North and the South, will see a stacked 156-player field compete for the $9.3 million purse and valuable FedEx Cup points.
The event, following the new PGA Tour schedule’s The American Express outing, will see several big names teeing it up. Players like Hideki Matsuyama, Ludvig Aberg, Tony Finau, Keegan Bradley, Sungjae Im, Sahith Theegala, Max Homa, and Jason Day, among others will tee it up this weekend.
It is pertinent to note that World No. 4 Matsuyama, who won the 2025 season-opener The Sentry in Hawaii, is the top-rated player on the field this weekend. Uninterestingly, the in-form Japanese golfer is also one of the two favorites to win in San Diego. According to SportsLine, the 32-year-old comes into the contest with 10-1 odds. He shares the top position on the odds table with World No. 6 Ludvig Aberg.
While Matsuyama won The Sentry, Aberg started his season with a T5 finish in the contest. The duo are in form and are the best bets for the upcoming Farmers Insurance Open. Meanwhile, the top two are closely followed by Tony Finau and Sungjae Im with 20-1 odds each. Coming on the back of a T36 finish at The American Express, Finau will be eyeing a big comeback this week.
Keegan Bradley (22-1), Will Zalatoris (22-1) and Max Greyserman (25-1) are the other big names to watch at the competition. Interestingly, Farmers Insurance Open reigning champion Matthieu Pavon also returns to defend his title. However, the Freshman is only a longshot pick with 120-1 odds, sharing the bets with the likes of Lee Hodges and Joseph Bramlett.
Notably, Aussie star Jason Day is a strong pick to watch this weekend with 28-1 odds, alongside Sahith Theegala (30-1).
