2025 The Sentry past winners: Exploring champions for the last 10 years

The 2025 Sentry Tournament will be the first PGA Tour event in the next year's roster. The event is scheduled to take place from January 2 to 5 at the Kapalua Plantation Course. The tournament, founded in 1953, was previously called the Tournament of Champions. In 2018, Sentry Insurance collaborated with the event for a multi-year contract as the title sponsor.

Currently, the Sentry is also recognized as one of the eight signature events on the PGA Tour and the purse of the event is around $20 million. Hence, as the Sentry welcomes its next edition, here's a look at the past champions for the last ten years:


List of past winners at the Sentry Tournament for the last 10 years

The 2025 edition is headlined by defending champion Chris Kirk and features a star-studded field for the upcoming year. The field will comprise 60 golfers including Xander Schauffele, Scottie Scheffler, and Hideki Matsuyama.

In 2024, Chris Kirk won with a score of 29 under. Kirk shot five birdies on the front nine of the last round, followed by three birdies on the last nine to finish one stroke ahead of Sahith Theegala.

In 2023, Jon Rahm won with a score of 27 under. He fired nine birdies in the last round along with an eagle on hole 15. The Spaniard shot eight, five, and six birdies in the first, second and third rounds, respectively, to defeat Collin Morikawa by two strokes.

In 2022, it was won by Cameron Smith with a score of 34 under. Smith shot 65 in the first round with five birdies, followed by a 64 with nine birdies. He settled with a 64 and 65 with nine and eight birdies, one stroke ahead of the 2023 champion, Jon Rahm.

In 2021, Harris English won the Sentry with a score of 25 under. He shot six birdies in the last round of the event and managed to defeat Joaquin Niemann in the playoff.

In 2020, Justin Thomas won the tournament for the second time with a score of 14 under. Thomas shot seven birdies in the last round of the event and emerged the winner in a three-way playoff with Patrick Reed and Xander Schauffele.

In 2019, Xander Schauffele came out victorious with a score of 23 under. Schauffele shot 72 in the first round, followed by 67 in the second round. In the next two rounds, he fired 68 and 62, respectively.

In 2018, Dustin Johnson lifted the trophy with a score of 24 under. In the four rounds, he shot 69, 68, 66, and 65 with 23 birdies in total, eight strokes ahead of Jon Rahm.

In 2017, Justin Thomas clinched his maiden Sentry title with 22 under. His score was 3 shots ahead of Hideki Matsuyama.

In 2016 and 2015, the event was won by Jordan Spieth and Patrick Reed with 30 under and 21 under, respectively.
