American trick-shot golfer Dennis Walters' dog surprised fans at the 2023 Honda Classic. The PGA Tour has shared a short clip featuring the golfer and his dog answering people's questions.
Walters' show at the Honda Classic will definitely bring a smile to your face. In the video shared, Walter was heard saying:
"We really appreciate you coming out and spending some time with us. He's a service dog. He helps me in real life. If I drop something, he picks it up. And he's your opening act. He's also the longest driver in canine golf. He's going to answer a few questions today. Remember, he's going to bark out the answers."
Dennis Walters' first question to his dog was:
"Two and two?"
The dog barked twice. He then asked him:
"Tires in a car?"
The dog again answered it correctly. He barked four times. Walter then switched to golf trivia and asked the dog:
"How many times did Jack Nicklaus win The Masters?"
Surprisingly, Walter's little pet barked six times. His next question was:
"How about Arnold Palmer? How many times did he win the Masters?"
Again, the dog answered it right by barking four times. Dennis further asked him:
"What about Tiger?"
The little pet answered it barking five times.
While the audience was enjoying the show, Dennis went on to ask:
"And how about me?"
The dog remained silent while the audience burst out in laughter. The American golfer then asked people to ask questions to his dog. A kid responded and said:
"12 divided by four?"
The white fur dog once again has the right answer. He barked thrice. The following was:
"Three plus two."
Walters's dog barked five times to answer the question.
"Very few things in this world are impossible"- Dennis Walters talks about his career
Dennis Walters turned professional in 1971. However, he has been playing golf since his school days. He won the New Jersey Junior Championship in 1967 and also participated in the US Amateur only to finish in 11th position.
Walters opened up about his golfing career in an interview at the 2023 Honda Classic. He said:
"I never thought I could make a career out of this. I was just trying to cope with a hopeless situation and basically amuse myself. And right from the very beginning, I told people how much I love to play golf, and how that every single person said, 'it would be impossible for me to do.' And I tried to use that as a way of encouraging people by telling my own story. "
He went on to add:
"If you're willing to work hard, persevere, and hang in there, very few things in this world are impossible."
As a wheelchair golfer, Walters struggled a lot with his career. However, he continued to play golf, and his passion and love for the game helped him to be inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 2019.
