The 2024 ISPS Handa Australian Open (women) started with its first round on Thursday, November 28, and after two rounds, Hyojin Yang took the lead in the game. The amateur golfer has been playing extremely well at this week's event. She shot 65 in the first round at The Victoria Golf Club, and 71 in the second at Kingston Heath. After her incredible two rounds, she has secured the top spot on the leaderboard at 9-under.

Meanwhile, Jiyai Shin is tied for second with Justin Boscio. Hannah Green and Danielle Kang have also been playing at the event and secured fourth and T18 places respectively after two rounds.

While some top-ranked golfers made the cut and will tee off for the weekend rounds, some players such as the likes of Casey Wild and Emma Ash struggled with their game and missed the cut.

#1 Emma Ash

Emma Ash had one of the toughest outings at the ISPS Handa Australian Open. She started with a round of 82 at the Victoria GC. She shot two back-to-back bogeys on the second and third holes and then added a double bogey on the fourth and two more bogeys on the fifth and sixth holes. She shot four bogeys on the back nine and scored 82.

Her struggles continued in the second round as she shot four bogeys, a double bogey, and a birdie, for 78. Ash finished with a score of +15 and missed the cut.

#2 Rhianna Lewis

Rhianna Lewis missed the cut at the ISPS Handa Australian Open (women) by just one stroke. She finished with +5 after carding two rounds of 77 and 73. She started at Kingston Heath and shot a birdie and bogey on the front nine and three bogeys, a birdie, and a double bogey on the back nine. She shot a second round of 73 with three birdies and four bogeys.


#3 Saraporn Chamchoi

Saraporn Chamchoi finished with +6 after two rounds and missed the cut. She started on the Victoria Golf Course and shot 75 in the opening round. She carded four bogeys and a single birdie. This was followed by a second round of 76, with seven bogeys and four birdies. She settled for a score of +6 and missed the cut.

In the first round of the tournament, Casey Wild played at the Victoria Golf Course and shot 73, with three bogeys, four birdies, and a double bogey. She teed it up for the second round at the Kingston Heath Golf Club and struggled with her game.

Wild made a bogey on the first hole and then a double bogey on the third. She went on to shoot two more bogeys, on four and five, and then a couple of bogeys, on the seventh and eighth holes. On the back nine, she had a bit of a turn around, carding three birdies but also made a bogey on the 13th and settled for 78. The Aussie golfer settled for a total of +6 and missed the cut.

#5 Kathryn Norris

Kathryn Norris, another Australian golfer, missed the cut at the 2024 ISPS Handa Australian Open (women). She also had a rough start with a round of 77 at the Kingston Heath Golf Course. She could make only a single birdie in the first round and added two double bogeys and a bogey on the 16th for 77.

After the tough start, Norris again struggled in the second round and shot two double bogeys, three bogeys, and five birdies for 74 and settled for a total of +6 and missed the cut.
