The 2025 Sony Open will begin this week in Honululu, Hawaii. Although this is the second event of the year on the PGA Tour calendar, it will be the first to hold a full field with 144 players set to compete.

Hideki Matsuyama was crowned the first title winner of the season at The Sentry in Hawaii last week. He had entered the final round on Sunday leading the standings and eventually won with a score of 35-under.

The odds for the 2025 Sony Open are out and here's taking a look at the top five picks for this week:

1) Hideki Matsuyama

The Japanese golfer will be the favorite going to the Waialae Country Club on Thursday. He is also the top ranked golfer in the field this week. After his victory in the Sentry, he is up to fifth place in the World Rankings.

The 32-year-old had tried out a new putter last week and it seemed to have worked for him. The new addition might especially come in handy at the Waialae where he has struggled with putts. Last week, Matsuyama became the seventh player to win the Sentry as well as the Sony Open.

He will be taking part in the latter event for the 12th time in his career, but out of all those appearances, he has managed to win only once. With +900 odds (via CBS) supporting him, it will be interesting to see if he emulates his 2022 success.

2) Corey Conners

The Canadian golfer placed T5 at the recently concluded Sentry in Hawaii. He carded a score of 24-under. The odds this week support him with +1400.

He has participated in the Sentry six times, and has managed to make the cut every single time. Conners has also finished in the top-12 four times. The 33-year-old has some good tee-to-green play which will suit the conditions at the Waialae.

3) Tom Kim

+2000 odds are stacked with Tom Kim ahead of the 2025 Sony Open. Kim had entered the event as the favorite in 2023, but wasn't able make the cut.

The South Korean golfer has shown tremendous promise in his play. After several ups and downs in his career, he performed brilliantly at the Presidents Cup last year. Fans will be looking forward to seen the young player in action.

4) Russell Henley

Despite placing T30 at the Sentry in Hawaii, the odds are supporting Henley ahead of the 2025 Sony Open this week at +2000.

Reportedly, the conditions at Waialae will support Henley's style of ironplay and accuracy off the tee. He has also really improved on his putting skills. In the last three years, the 35-year-old has had two top-5 finishes.

5) Keegan Bradley

US Ryder Cup captain Keegan Bradley is a golfer to watch out for at the 2025 Sony Open. He has already mentioned that he would like to try to make the team at the Ryder Cup this year and delivered an impressive performance at the Sentry.

He has +2500 odds with him. Last year, he lost to Grayson Murray in a playoff. Fans will be looking forward to seeing him go one better this year.
