The PGA Tour heads to Cromwell, Connecticut, this week for the 2024 Travelers Championship, which will take place at TPC River Highlands from Thursday, June 20, to Sunday, June 23.
The season's eighth and final Signature event will feature most of the top-ranked players, with only Rory McIlroy missing from the field. 71 players will compete for the whopping prize money of $20 million.
Here in this article, we will look at the five top-ranked players at the 2024 Travelers Championship.
5 top-ranked players at the 2024 Travelers Championship
1) Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler is the highest-ranked player in action at the TPC River Highlands. This will be his fifth appearance at the events. He has missed just one cut here and also made a T4 finish in 2023.
2) Xander Schauffele
Since Rory McIlroy is not competing this week, Xander Schauffle will be the second-highest-ranked player on the field. Two years ago, he registered a win at the TPC River Highlands.
Speaking of recent form, Schauffele won the PGA Championship last month, which was followed by two back-to-back top tens.
3) Ludvig Aberg
Ludvig Aberg made his professional debut last year, and today he is ranked 4th in the OWGR. He already has a runner-up at the Masters and a T12 at the US Open.
Last year, Aberg made a T24 finish in his first appearance at the TPC River Highlands.
4) Wyndham Clark
Although Wyndham Clark is World No. 5 in the OWGR, he hasn't played like it in the last few weeks. He has missed three cuts in his last six starts, and the US Open was the first Major this season where he made it to the weekend. However, he could only tie for 56th while trying to defend his title.
Despite the recent slump, Clark has a win and two runner-up finishes this season. He will be hoping to get back to form at the Travelers Championship.
5) Viktor Hovland
Last month, it looked as if Viktor Hovland had returned to his best with a third-place finish at the PGA Championship. However, he then missed the cut at the US Open.
Speaking of his past performance, the World No. 6 golfer has made the cut in each of his three starts at the Travelers Championship. He will be eyeing a better finish this week to boost his confidence as we head into the latter half of the season.
