The 2025 Farmers Insurance Open concluded after four days of intense play and Harris English clinched the win at Torrey Pines South course after remaining winless for the last four years. He won the event with a score of 8 under, as he jumped from seventh to first place after the third round.
While Harris English unexpectedly showed his golf skills on the rough setup at Torrey Pines and clinched the trophy, some golfers were expected to perform better than their current positions on the Farmers Insurance Open leaderboard.

#1. Ludvig Aberg
Ludvig Aberg’s odds to win the Farmers Insurance Open were +1000, according to CBS Sports. However, the Swede could stay in the first place on the leaderboard only till the second round. From the third round, his game faltered and the golfer landed at T42 with 3 over. Aberg shot 63 in the first round with eight birdies and one eagle, followed by 75 in the second round with two birdies. In the third and fourth rounds, he fired 74 with four birdies and 79 with one birdie.
#2. Hideki Matsuyama
Hideki Matsuyama too, had odds of +1000 to win, but the golfer landed at T32 with 1 over. Matsuyama shot 68 in the first round with six birdies, followed by 75 in the second round with four birdies. In the third round, he carded three birdies to finish at 70 and in the fourth round, he scored 76 with only one birdie.
#3. Tony Finau
Tony Finau’s odds of winning were +2000 but he failed to make the cutline. He shot 72 in the first round with one birdie on the front nine and three birdies on the back nine. He fired 77 in the second round with one birdie.
Finau had his last win at the 2023 Mexico Open, where he finished at 24 under after four rounds.

Max Greyserman’s odds to win the Farmers Insurance Open were +2500 but he finished at T48 with 4 over with 71. Greyserman shot 71 in the first round with four birdies and he shot 73 with five birdies. In the third round, he fired 74 with three birdies in total, and in the fourth round, he scored 74 with four birdies. Greyserman is yet to clinch a PGA Tour tournament win.

Sahith Theegala's odds to win were +3000, but he finished at T52 with 5 over. He scored 71 with six birdies and 73 with four birdies. In the third and fourth rounds, the American carded 69 with six birdies and 80 with one birdie, respectively.
