The final stage of the PGA Tour Q-School concluded on Sunday, December 15, with six players earning their Tour cards for the next season. The players battled hard over four rounds, but only the top five and ties secured membership for the upcoming season.
Lanto Griffin fired a sensational 63 in the final round to win medalist honors at TPC Sawgrass’ Dye’s Valley Course by three strokes. In this article, we will look at the six players who qualified for the 2025 PGA Tour season, including Griffin.
6 golfers who earned their Tour cards at 2025 PGA TOUR Q-School
1) Lanto Griffin
Lanto Griffin is no stranger to the PGA Tour and has even registered a win in the past. He was outside the top 5 going into the final round but started strong with an eagle and four birdies to finish the front nine with a 6-under 29. On the back nine, the 36-year old golfer added another birdie to close the round with a 63 and win the event by a three-stroke margin.
In recent years, Griffin has struggled with injuries and also underwent microdiscectomy surgery. The 2019 Houston Open winner will be hoping to put the past behind him and make the most of his Tour card.
2) Hayden Buckley
Hayden Buckley, another PGA Tour veteran, secured his card this weekend. He shot back-to-back 67s in the final two rounds to finish second at 6-under.
The 2024 season was disappointing for Buckley, as he missed 18 cuts in 29 starts and finished 139th in the FedEx Cup standings.
3) Takumi Kanaya
Takumi Kanaya earned his Tour card for the first time, despite having played 25 events in the past. He is a seven-time winner on the Japan Tour and a former top-ranked amateur in the world.
The Japanese golfer has competed in 11 Major championships and reached as high as 49th in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR). This season, he topped the Japan Tour’s 2024 money list.
4) Alejandro Tosti
Alejandro Tosti was a rookie in the 2024 season and came close to winning the Texas Children's Houston Open. However, he ultimately failed to retain his card after missing 16 cuts and finishing 137th in the FedEx Cup Fall.
The Argentine golfer did not have a great start to the week, shooting 71 and 74 in the first two rounds. However, he rebounded strongly, closing the week with rounds of 65 and 66 to finish at 4-under.
5) Will Chandler
Will Chandler was almost out of contention at Dye’s Valley after shooting a 36 on the front nine. However, he caught up on the back nine with three birdies, followed by an eagle on the 16th hole.
The University of Georgia alum will make his debut next season but already has experience playing 10 times on the Korn Ferry Tour and nine times on the PGA Tour Canada.
6) Matthew Riedel
Matthew Riedel turned professional in June and is now a 2025 PGA Tour member. However, he faced a bit of a hiccup in the final round as he narrowly qualified for the Tour.
Riedel was leading after 54 holes but made three bogeys and a double bogey, finishing 2-over 37 on the front nine. He made another bogey on the tenth and closed with a 2-over 72 in the final round. Despite the slip, he managed to earn his card, finishing at 4-over.
