Ian Poulter is one of the most followed golfing entities on X (formerly Twitter). He has around 2.1 million followers on X and regularly shares updates with fans.
The British golfer shared a couple of pictures on X and said that he bought his first green Vauxhall 31 years ago and that it took him 31 years to buy his second green car. The second green car is none other than a Ferrari 812, which is worth around $2 million.
"31 years ago, I passed my test and bought my first green rust bucket Vauxhall Astra Mk1. Took me 31 years to buy another green car. 812 Comp A is such an awesome machine," Poulter wrote.
Ian Poulter adores cars and reportedly has a car collection worth over $25 million. According to carcollectorsclubs.com, the pro golfer owns over 14 Ferrari Super Cars, like a 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, Ferrari F40, Ferrari F50, 2002 Enzo Ferrari and two LaFerraris.
He said that growing up, all he wanted was a nice car and revealed how he developed a love for Ferrari.
"Growing up, all I wanted was a nice car. It equated to doing well," Poulter said during an interview with GQ in 2020.
"My first taste of a Ferrari was a week in an F355, which a friend of mine let me borrow. I’d just got my European Tour card. This was back in 2000 - I was 24, driving around Luton. What an absolutely beautiful car that is," Poulter said.
Apart from Ferrari, he also owns a Mercedes AMG GTS, Mercedes G63, Ford GT, Bugatti Veyron and a Porsche 911 GT2.

Ian Poulter joined the breakaway Saud-backed golf league in 2022 and hasn't competed on the PGA Tour or the DP World Tour since then. So, most of his earnings came from just LIV Golf this year.
However, the British golfer competed in the International Series Macau earlier this year on the Asian Tour. He finished 41st iand received $11,680 at the Macau Golf and Country Club.
On LIV Golf, the 48-year-old golfer earned $2,855,321 during the season as he registered just two top-10 finishes. His best finish came at the final individual event of the season, in Chicago, where he finished fifth for the event.
However, as all golfers receive a share of the prize money purse, Poulter made around $2,855,321 and was ranked 40th in the 2024 LIV Golf money list.
