Min Woo Lee shot 61, his personal best score in the practice round he played on Thursday, May 30. To verify his claim, he had Collin Morikawa as a witness.
Lee and Morikawa are on break this week, as they are not competing in the RBC Canadian Open. However, they didn't take a break from practice, as they were preparing together ahead of the Memorial Tournament, the next signature event on the PGA Tour.
On Thursday, Lee posted an Instagram story saying that that he had fired an 11-under-61 in the practice round, and this was his personal best. He also tagged Morikawa as a witness to his achievement.
"Personal best today," he wrote. "61 off the tips. -11. Started out hot"
As per the scorecard he posted, he sank 11 birdies and one eagle in his round. The lone bogey came on the par-4, tenth hole.
Morikawa also reposted the story, citing that Min Woo Lee didn't want to play more than three holes initially but ended up coming quite close to shooting 59. The two-time major champion also posted a bogey-free 8-under 64 with the help of six birdies and one eagle.
