PGA Tour star Patrick Cantlay has sent a special message to Nelly Korda. He congratulated the World No. 1 women's golfer for her incredible season.
Cantlay, an eight-time PGA Tour champion, recently competed at the Hero World Challenge. Korda is in action this week at the Grant Thornton Invitational, a mixed-team exhibition event.
On Friday, December 13, Cantlay reposted Cisco's Instagram post congratulating Nelly Korda on her brilliant season.
"Congrats on the year! Nelly Korda," he wrote.
For the uninitiated, both Cantlay and Korda are signed by CISCO.
Korda won seven titles on the LPGA Tour this season, including one major championship. She claimed victories at the LPGA Drive On Championship, Fir Hills Seri Pak Championship, Ford Championship, T-Mobile Match Play, Chevron Championship, Mizuho Americas Open, and The Annika.
Five of Korda's wins came back-to-back, making her only the third player in history to achieve this. She finished the season as World No. 1 and was also named LPGA Player of the Year.
When will Nelly Korda tee off at the Grant Thornton Invitational, Round 2?
Nelly Korda and her teammate Daniel Berger are paired with Lexi Thompson and Rickie Fowler for the second round of the Grant Thornton Invitational. Both teams will be in the third group of the day and will tee off on Friday, December 14, at 11:19 a.m. ET.
Korda and Berger didn’t have an ideal start to the week, as they carded 9-under 63 with the help of nine birdies in the opening round, which was played in a scramble format. They are tied for eighth with four other teams.
Following the first round, Patty Tavatanakit and Jake Knapp took the one-stroke lead after firing 14-under 58. The duo picked up birdies on all the holes of the front nine. After sinking two more birdies on the 13th and 14th, they closed with back-to-back eagles.
Brooke Henderson and Corey Conners are tied for second alongside Akshay Bhatia and Jennifer Kupcho after carding 13-under 59 on Day 1 at Tiburon Golf Club.
