Fans on social media have reacted to the news that tickets for the 2025 Ryder Cup have sold out. The upcoming edition of the biennial competition will take place at Bethpage Black Course in New York, and it was recently reported that competition-day tickets priced at $750 are now sold out.
Tickets for the three-day event ranged from $250 to $750, marking a price increase compared to the last edition. Nuclr Golf shared the news about the ticket sell-out on its X (formerly Twitter) account, writing:
"#SOLD OUT — In a statement, the PGA of America says Ryder Cup tickets are sold out for competition days. 500,000 registrants were in the random selection for a chance to make a purchase. Tickets were priced at $750 USD per person per day."
Many commented that these tickets might soon resell at a much higher price.
"Good news…90% will be up for resale at $1,000+," a fan wrote.
"Ridiculous," another fan wrote.
Meanwhile, some fans expressed frustration over the expensive ticket prices for the Ryder Cup,
"Such an expensive ticket and that too a lot of money from this game," one more fan wrote.
"It’s an incredible event and next year will be huge but those prices are insulting to the general population," another fan commented.
Yet some fans expressed disappointment that tickets sold out so quickly despite the steep rates.
"Everyone b**ch and complained and yall still bought em. They gonna be $1k each next time around," a fan jotted.

"We view ourselves as a Tier 1 event"- PGA of America director shares his take on the high price of Ryder Cup tickets
In October 2024, PGA of America Director Bryan Karns defended the high prices of Ryder Cup tickets in an interview with SiriusXM Radio. Karns explained the pricing by describing the Ryder Cup as a "Tier 1 event," comparing it to the "NBA Finals Game 7."
"We view ourselves as a Tier 1 event that's on par with a World Series, or with an NBA Finals Game 7. That was a part of it. So when we look at pricing, we're able to tap into data from all these different venues," he said.
The Ryder Cup, widely regarded as one of the most popular team events in golf, takes place every two years, alternating between European and American venues. The last event took place in Rome, Italy, where the European team, led by captain Luke Donald, secured an impressive 16 1/2 to 11 1/2 victory.
Donald will return as captain of Team Europe in 2025, while Keegan Bradley will lead Team USA. The tournament is scheduled for September 25-28 at Bethpage Black Course in New York.
