Akshay Bhatia made his DP World Tour debut this week at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic. After playing a couple of rounds, he noted that European Tour players practice more than PGA Tour pros.

During his first outing at the Hero Dubai Desert Classic, Bhatia had a brief Q&A session with DP World Tour where he answered some interesting questions. One of the questions was about any differences he noticed between playing on the European circuit and the PGA Tour.

"Yeah, guys practice a lot more than the PGA Tour," he replied. "I mean, this golf course is really good. It's a really good test and, you know, it gets really firm, so it's a nice challenge."

Bhatia also revealed that watching cars and the license plates was his favorite thing about Dubai. When asked about his favorite car, he didn’t have anything specific but mentioned McLarens, Lamborghinis, and Bugattis.

The two-time PGA Tour winner was also asked what motivated him to play in the Hero Dubai Desert Classic.

"It's always been kind of a bucket list to be here in Dubai," he replied. "I didn't want to miss this opportunity to play this event, you know, enjoy kind of the different tour and just playing in front of, you know, some amazing people."

Akshay Bhatia had a solid outing in his Hero Dubai Desert Classic debut, finishing 2-under par after four rounds of golf.

Bhatia began the week with a 3-under 69 but barely made the cut after shooting a second-round 73. He carded another 73 in the third round but closed the week with a 1-under 71 on Day 4 at Emirates GC. Overall, Bhatia picked up 16 birdies, along with eight bogeys and six double bogeys.

Last year, Bhatia had an impressive season in his first full PGA Tour campaign, playing 26 events and making 18 cuts, including 12 top-25 finishes. Notably, he secured two runner-up finishes and claimed his first PGA Tour win at the Valero Texas Open. Interestingly, both of his victories have come in playoff finishes.

Bhatia will next compete at the PGA Tour's Farmers Insurance Open, set to take place from Wednesday, January 22 to Saturday, January 25 at Torrey Pines Golf Club in San Diego, California.
