“It was a great week overall" - Eric Cole on his victory
The 34-year-old Eric Cole earned a card to compete on the PGA Tour this season. He finished in the top 25 on the Korn Ferry Tour to open his door for the PGA Tour.
Cole opened up about his performance in his interview and said:
“It was a great week overall. I played three really good days of good ball-striking and then today, especially on the front nine, my ball-striking wasn't where it needed to be. I felt like I hung pretty tough, and I was really proud of that. I played as hard as I could. I can't wait to get back in that environment again. It was a lot of fun.”
Earlier, after the second round at the 2023 Honda Classic, Cole explained:
"Spent a little more time playing with her growing up. But they've both helped a lot. Like at a younger age, as a junior, I played more with my mom and we kind of hit it similar distances. It's kind of like I learned a little bit more from her because of that."
Since the beginning of 2023, the PGA Rookie has had an eventful journey. He proposed to his long-term girlfriend Stephanie Williams at Pebble Beach Golf Links three weeks ago, and he has now finished second at the Honda Classic.
Chris Kirk won the tournament after scoring 69 in the final round. He began the final round with a birdie and finished with four birdies and three bogeys to win the championship.
