A look at Nelly Korda's performance on the first two days of the 2024 Solheim Cup
Nelly Korda has been extremely dominant during the first two rounds of the Solheim Cup. Suffice it to say that two of the three matches she has played have ended in less than 18 holes.
Korda began day one by teaming up with Allisen Corpuz to play Charley Hull and Esther Henseleit in a foursome.
The so-called "Team KoCo" quickly took a 2-up lead on the front nine, and although the Europeans tied the match on the 13th hole, the Americans won consecutive holes from the 14th to the 16th to take the match 3&2 without having to complete the round.
In the afternoon, Korda teamed up with her friend Megan Khang to face Georgia Hall and Leona Maguire in fourballs. Korda and Khang gave their rivals little chance, as the Europeans managed to win only two of the 14 holes played. The Americans won the match 6&4.
For the morning foursomes on the second day, Korda again formed "Team KoCo" with Allisen Corpuz to face Carlota Ciganda and Emily Pedersen. The Europeans got off to a strong start and led 1 up at the 12th hole.
But "Team KoCo" was able to come back into the match, winning the 13th hole to tie and the 14th hole to take the lead. The Europeans won the 15th hole to tie again, but the Americans won the 17th hole for the decisive lead. The tie on the 18th hole gave the victory to Korda and Corpuz with 1 up.
Nelly Korda and Allisen Corpuz's Friday morning win was their fourth consecutive Solheim Cup victory as a team. No American duo has won more points in a row in the history of the event.
