While the Southeastern United States is still suffering from the destruction caused by Hurricane Helene, CBS reporter Amanda Balionis has undertaken an initiative to help the communities. Balionis has raised more than $10k for the cause through her non-profit organization, Puppies and Golf.
The golf and NFL broadcaster had partnered with five shelters to provide vital support to animals in need. In a major update about her initiative, Amanda Balionis recently took to Instagram to share that her non-profit has added two more shelters in its support list. The shelters are FOTAS Aiken and Augusta Animal Services. The organization had set a goal of earning $10k that was matched by an unnamed donor and after an overwhelming response the donations went past the goal.
Balionis also announced that her non-profit was expanding its efforts by partnering with Intown Golf Club. This would enable the organization to set up in-kind donations at the club's outlets in Atlanta and Charlotte. The 39-year-old also shared a fundraising link on her new post talking about the update.
Amanda Balionis added a list of everything people could do to support the cause and aid in providing relief to the people and animals affected by Hurricane Helene. The list included donating on the fundraiser link, purchasing from the shelters' Amazon wishlist in the link on her Instagram bio and bringing in-kind donations. For the latter, she had posted a list of required items on her bio and the organization's most recent post on Instagram.
