"Can anyone beat the number of dog photos I have in my library?" Balionis wrote in her Instgram story.
Balionis' love for dogs is well-known among her fans. She has been actively involved in rescuing dogs and helping them find shelter. Additionally, she continues to work through her organization to support more dogs in need.
At the 3M Open Championship, she was accompanied by her dogs and also posed with them while sitting in the commentator’s seat. She shared these photos from the PGA Tour event on her Instagram account.
When Amanda Balionis revealed reasons behind charity organization for dogs
In an interview with Golf Digest in 2020, Amanda Balionis revealed the inspiration behind her charity organization, Puppies and Golf. She shared that the idea came to her while working with Callaway. A friend of hers owned an apparel company called "Puppies Make Me Happy," which sparked the idea.
Balionis collaborated with K9s For Warriors, an American charity and veteran organization that supports service dogs, to help spread awareness.
"A friend of mine owns an apparel company called “Puppies Make Me Happy,” and I thought, “Why don’t we do a ‘Puppies and Golf’ shirt?” We’ll have all the proceeds go to K9s for Warriors, so even if I can’t physically be volunteering, it’s still a great way to give back and, more importantly, spread awareness about this national organization," Balionis said (via Golf Digest).
Balionis also mentioned in the same interview that Callaway contributed to her charity by creating special wedges and raising funds for dog welfare.
"Callaway also joined the cause, allowing me to take over a hole at “Links at PetCo Park” and created some limited edition wedges that went up for auction. With all of that, we were able to raise over $30,000 and sponsor a dog," she added.
Notably, Puppies and Golf was founded in 2020 and primarily focuses on raising awareness about dogs and helping families in need of financial support for their dogs. Additionally, her organization works to provide support to other charities that train service dogs for military veterans battling PTSD.
