CBS reporter Amanda Balionis recently attended a K9s for Warriors event to commemorate National Service Dog Day. Balionis' dog shelter Puppies & Golf was a "proud sponsor" for the event.
Balionis sported an all-black leather dress and golden hoops for the event. She left her hair down and completed the look with a white watch and a black purse. The golf and NFL broadcaster shared numerous pictures from the special night.
K9s for Warriors is an organization that provides highly-trained service dogs to military veterans suffering from PTSD. At the event, Balionis not only heard testimonials from veterans about the "life saving" benefits of having a service dog, but also met with some along with their dogs. She talked about the experience in her caption:
"I absolutely loved getting to meet Dave- a retired Master Sergeant with the Army National Guard- and his dog Doc. Doc was a puppy set to be euthanized because of overpopulation until K9s for Warriors adopted him."
The 39-year-old reporter also shared the "incredible" service provided by K9s for Warriors with her followers.
"This incredible organization saves so many dogs like Doc, trains them to become service animals, who then turn around and save our Military Veterans who return from serving our country with invisible injuries. It’s a perfect full circle moment that deserves to be celebrated every day,"
Amanda Balionis is one of the most prominent golf reporters in the media. Recently, she announced her hiatus from the covering the sport for the rest of the year. She is now focusing on NFL broadcasting. Along with her thriving media career, she founded her non-profit Puppies & Golf in 2020 with the intention to protect and advocate for dogs. The non-profit also aims to shed light on the healing and health benefits of having a dog.
