Annika Sorenstam's 13-year-old son outdrives her at PNC Championship

Annika Sorenstam's son Will McGee outdrove his mother in the 2024 PNC Championship practice round. Will is the youngest golfer at Ritz Carlton and the young prodigy has already shown his golfing skills before the main tournament begins on December 21.

Sorenstam told Golfweek she'd have to perform and hit better to surpass her son, saying:

“I do have to hit it quite well to make sure I'm past him…which is fun. But it's one of those moments that I'm excited that he will, but then part of me is, Hmm, what does that mean about my game? I'm going this way, and he's going up, and it's just so. I'm excited for him.”

On the sixth hole, Will McGee shouted that he outdrove his mother. Sorenstam explained that her son was more of a feel player and liked experimenting.

“For me, it's like I'm not going to move on until I hit it perfect many, many times, and then I move on,” Annika Sorenstam added.

In the same interview, Will was asked to choose between his mother and father, Mike McGee, as a better caddie. He picked his father for the duty.

“So it's a little different…I'd say Dad is a little bit better on the greens for reading. And then whenever there's football on the weekends, it's like a Sunday, there's football, and so my mom never let me check the scores or whatever, and my dad would. So it's fun,” Will McGee said.

McGee Junior has won two tournaments in the Boys 11-13 division on the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour. He finished ninth in the Tour Championship.

When will Annika Sorenstam tee off for the 2024 PNC Championship?

Annika Sorenstam and her son Will McGee will tee off at 10:05 am ET along with Team Stricker on December 21. Next to them, Team Daly and Team Duval will start at 10:18 am. Defending champions Team Langer, which includes Bernhard Langer and Jason, will start at 10:57 am along with Team Singh.

Team Trevino and Team Price have the first tee time at 9 am. Team Woods and Team Leonard have the second last tee time at 10:44 am.
