Fans were not pleased with the delay in the final round of the RBC Heritage. The signature PGA Tour event commenced with its opening round on Thursday, April 18, and was scheduled to conclude on Sunday, April 21, at Harbour Town Golf Links.
However, the tournament was suspended on Sunday due to darkness and inclement weather. Some golfers completed their play, while others are yet to finish the concluding 18 holes. Play will resume for the final round on Monday, April 22 at 8 a.m. ET.
The PGA Tour shared the unfortunate news of the play suspension on its X (formerly Twitter) account with the caption:
"Play has been suspended due to darkness. Round 4 will resume Monday at 8 a.m. ET on @GolfChannel and http://PGATOUR.COM."
Fans expressed their disappointment in the comments section and criticized the organizers.
"Another poor planned tournament," wrote a fan.

It is important to note that this is the second PGA Tour event this year to experience a delayed finish. Earlier this year, Cognizant Classic also concluded with a final on Monday.
Also, the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am was severely affected by inclement weather and failed to complete all four rounds on Sunday. It was reduced to 54 holes, with the third-round leader, Wyndham Clark, declared the winner.
Regarding the RBC Heritage, more than half of the field had completed their games, with only 10 golfers needing to play the final few holes.
Here is the list of golfers yet to complete their final round of the 2024 RBC Heritage:
- JT Poston
- Tom Hoge
- Seamus Power
- Patrick Cantlay
- Patrick Rodgers
- Ludvig Aberg
- Collin Morikawa
- Sahith Theegala
- Scottie Scheffler
- Sepp Straka
Highlights of the 2024 RBC Heritage Sunday round
The final round of the RBC Heritage started smoothly on Sunday, April 21, but rain affected the play towards the conclusion of the event. However, even after suspension, Scottie Scheffler maintained his lead, extending it to a five-stroke lead over Wyndham Clark, Patrick Cantlay, JT Poston, and Sahith Theegala.
The current World No. 1 is yet to play the three holes and has a high chance of winning the game. It would be Scheffler's second straight victory and fourth win of the year. He also won the Masters earlier this month. In fact, Scheffler has won three of his last four starts.
Clark shot 65 in the final round of the RBC Heritage and jumped 15 positions on the leaderboard to settle in a tie for second place. Meanwhile, Ludvig Aberg struggled on Sunday, as he shot three bogeys along with four birdies to maintain a score of under par 1. He has yet to play one hole to complete the game.
