Anthony Kim made a comeback to professional golf in 2024, after nearly 12 years away. He joined LIV Golf earlier this year as a wildcard and isn't part of any team. Before joining LIV, Kim last played professional golf in 2012, as his career ended abruptly due to injuries.
Recently, Kim shared a few videos on X (formerly Twitter) where he can be seen working on his game. Along with the videos, he described what brought him fulfillment:
"A few things that fulfill me these days R my family/innercircle, working hard, & motivating people that R struggling. 1 day I will build a community where good humans support others that r struggling. Get after it 2day 1%better!!!" Kim wrote.
Kim knows the stress of struggle as he left professional golf after facing an injury in 2012. He had an Achilles surgery, after which he stayed away from professional golf.
Speaking soon after his comeback in April this year, Kim had shared that he fell into bad company and had dark moments in his life. He added he felt honored and blessed to come back:
"Once you get going down that slippery slope, it’s hard to make your way back, and unfortunately, I just kept going downhill. Somehow, I’ve made it through. I’m sitting here in front of you just feeling really honored and blessed to be here because there’s a lot of reasons I shouldn’t be here right now," Kim revealed.
Kim said his wife, mother, and daughter were his saviors. His daughter was a premature baby, and it was tough for Kim and his family to watch her fight for life.
"In that moment, I realized that I have to change my life and the things that I’m doing if I’m going to be able to support her, not financially, but emotionally just be there for her," Kim said.
Where is Anthony Kim ranked in the 2024 LIV Golf season?
Anthony Kim is ranked 56th in the 2024 LIV Golf individual season-long rankings. He joined the third event of LIV Golf in March in Jeddah and has struggled to be consistent.
His best finish came last week at the LIV Golf Greenbrier event, where he finished 36th for the event. Kim's struggle is understandable as he is playing professional golf after almost 12 years. Despite that, he showcased glimpses of vintage Anthony Kim and will try his best to finish the 2024 LIV Golf season on a high at the final individual event in Chicago.
The individual championship is a fight between Jon Rahm and Joaquin Niemann, as no other golfer has a chance to win the individual championship as no other golfer is within 40 points, the winner's reward. The Spanish golfer is at the top of the rankings with 195.17 points, while the Chilean golfer is just behind at 192.2 points.
