"Are you kidding me?!" – Fans in awe as Hayden Buckley hits an ace on Day 1 of Players Championship

Hayden Buckley created history on Thursday by making a hole-in-one on the 17th hole in Round 1 of the Players Championship. This is his second career hole-in-one on the PGA Tour and the 40th ace in the tournament's history.

The PGA Tour tweeted a video where a fan's voice can be heard saying:

"Is it going to go in?"

When the ball finally goes in, she erupts in joy and screams:

"Oh, my God! Are you kidding me?!"

It was not just her who reacted like this. Many fans on Golf Twitter had something to say.

The 17th hole has a history of aces as the hole has seen 11 aces till now. Despite the ace, Buckley could post only 73 in the first round.

Collin Morikawa looked solid on Day 1 at The Players Championship

Chad Ramey shot 8-under 64 in the first round of The Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass to take a one-stroke lead over Collin Morikawa.

Taylor Pendrith, Ben Griffin, and Justin Suh are tied for third with a score of 5 under 67.

World No. 1 Jon Rahm got off to a poor start as he concluded the first round at 1-under-71. Scottie Scheffler, another tournament favorite, posted a solid 4-under 68 on Day 1 of the Players Championship.

Rory McIlroy struggled in the opening round as he scored 4-over 76 at TPC Sawgrass.
