The Asian Tour's Taiwan Masters was forced to implement the LIV Golf format due to the inclement weather. No play was possible on Thursday, October 3 as Taipei was affected due to Typhoon Krathon.
The Asian Tour's Taiwan Masters was scheduled to begin on Thursday at Taiwan Golf and Country Club in New Taipei City. However, the event is now set to begin on Saturday, October 5, once the weather gets better.
The Asian Tour released a statement on social media regarding the situation and the format change. The Tour also said that the players will tee off with the shotgun start, something that LIV Golf follows in its tournaments. All the players will tee off on Saturday at 7 am local time from different holes.

"We had hoped to start today in order to play as many holes as possible but heavy rain and the lack of time to prepare the course have washed out any chance of this,” said Chokchai Boonprasert, Tournament Director of Asian Tour said in official statement.
Berry Henson, who is playing in the tournament, also joked about getting the OWGR points for the 54-hole event.

Notably, Typhoon Krathon has caused havoc in several areas of Taiwan. As per reports, one person has lost his life while two are missing. Besides, more than 70 people are injured. The offices and schools were closed on Wednesday, and the flights were canceled on Thursday as well.
