Blades Brown gets surprised by Tiger Woods after the 16-yo matched his record at US Junior Amateur

Tiger Woods surprised Blades Brown after he matched the legendary golfer's record at the US Junior Amateur. The USGA amateur event is being held at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan.

Blades Brown is leading the US Junior Amateur after the first two rounds of the stroke play portion. The 16-year-old joined Tiger Woods and Bobby Clampett to win stroke-play medalist honors at both the U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Amateur. Brown won the stroke-play co-medalist honors at US Amateur last year.

Tiger Woods surprised Brown with a visit and a picture with the Tennessean native. Their picture was shared on X by Nuclr Golf:

Brown scored 4-under 66 in the first round with five birdies against one bogey at the US Junior Amateur. He carded 2-under 68 in the second round. In the front nine, he scored one birdie and two bogeys, while on the back nine, he scored three birdies on an eagle and two bogeys.

Blades Brown is having a great 2024 season. Earlier this year, he made a debut at the 2024 Myrtle Beach Classic. He scored 72, 67, 66 and 69 in the four rounds and finished with a score of 10 under par. He tied for the 26th position, better than Parker Coody, Harry Hall and Pierceson Coody, among others.

Blades Brown is currently 8th on the AJGA rankings. He is 103rd on the World Amateur Golf Rankings. He has had five wins and 13 top-10 finishes in his golf career.

Tiger Woods is attending the event for his son Charlie who also competed at the amateur golf competition.

Tiger Woods' son Charlie was also among the field of 264 golfers who teed up at the Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. In the first round, Charlier scored 12-over 82. He scored two birdies, four bogeys and five double bogeys to tie at 242nd after the end of the round.

In the second round, Charlie scored 10-over 80. He scored one birdie, four bogeys and three double bogeys in the round. He finished with an aggregate score of 22 over 162 and failed to make the cut which was 4 over par.
