With their two respective sides working to come to an agreement, LIV Golfers Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau will take on PGA Tour stars Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. The divide in golf may be reduced, but there's still a gap between the two sides. The sport of golf will now get to witness that gap in tournament action.

The tournament, which will be in Las Vegas this December, is going to air on TNT, which previously housed nine editions of The Match. The Match, which McIlroy has played in before, is a charity golf match that pits four golfers against each other in teams of two.

It will likely function similarly to The Match. It's not an official event of any kind and it will feature two teams of two, Koepka and DeChambeau vs. Scheffler and McIlroy, competing in a unique format.

Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy have already had one thrilling duel in golf this year. They battled it out for 18 holes in the final round of the 2024 US Open, with DeChambeau snatching victory with a par on the 18th hole.

Now, they'll try to provide even more entertainment, this time with Scottie Scheffler, the World No. 1, and Brooks Koepka, a five-time Major champion, involved as well.

McIlroy confirmed his involvement via Golfweek:

“I’m thrilled to partner with Scottie in what promises to be an exciting duel against Bryson and Brooks in Vegas this December. This isn’t just a contest between some of golf’s Major champions; it’s an event designed to energize the fans. We’re all here to put on a great show and contribute to a goodwill event that brings the best together again.”

This is also noteworthy given how anti-LIV McIlroy was for a long time. He has since thawed his stance and once said he wished the tour would dissolve entirely. He no longer begrudges players for going to LIV, and now he's going to compete in a tournament with two of their highest-profile players.
