“I’m content with every decision I’ve made” - Brooks Koepka has no remorse over his LIV Golf switch

Brooks Koepka has no regrets on LIV move

Brooks Koepka is one of the most high-profile golfers to have defected from the PGA Tour to LIV Golf. The golf star has a big personality and was a big win for the rebel tour. Is he content with being on LIV now, though?

Many have speculated about Koepka's happiness level with LIV, especially as it compares to what the PGA Tour is doing now. Nevertheless, he put those ideas to bed.

Koepka said via Golf Monthly:

“I’m fine, I’m satisfied, I’m content with every decision I’ve made. I knew everything I was getting into."

Initially, it was speculated that the LIV star might be one of many who believe their contracts don't require them to play the full slate of events. When they signed, they signed on for 10 events.

The league has now expanded to 14 events, and some players are unhappy that they have to do more than what they expected. Koepka is evidently not one of them.

There were rumors that Koepka might also be feeling left out as the PGA Tour got bigger and better. Alan Shipnuck said:

"I’m hearing a lot of rumblings that Brooks Koepka has buyer’s remorse. The guy has one of the biggest egos in golf, and as the PGA Tour creates ever-increasing buzz with its elevated events and even the state-sanctioned TGL, Koepka has to feel like he’s on the outside looking in."

Ultimately, Greg Norman denied it and now so has Koepka himself.

Brooks Koepka is looking forward to another shot at a major

Brooks Koepka is a four-time major winner. The golfer won the PGA Championship in 2018 and 2019 and took home the US Open trophy in 2017 and 2018. He also placed second in the 2019 Masters.

When he joined LIV Golf, he didn't know if he'd be in a major ever again. LIV golfers weren't guaranteed eligibility and the decision to allow them in was not an easy one to make.

Nevertheless, all four majors agreed to let LIV Golf members play if they would ordinarily qualify. That means Koepka can play.

Koepka said via CNN:

"Nothing quite feels the same. The majors are so different. It's the pinnacle of our sport. It's what you're judged by. If you look at all the greats that have ever played this game, most people can't tell you how many PGA Tour events or how many European Tour events this person's won or that person's won, but they know exactly how many majors you've won. So, to me, that's what you're defined by."

He may not be the same player he was when he won those four majors, but he's still got plenty of talent and a lot to prove.

"I love it when athletes get cocky or confident in themselves — I think that's important. Everybody needs that, no matter what profession, no matter what you're doing. If you feel you're the best, then go ahead and say it and then just go back it up."

Can Brooks Koepka back up his talk with excellent play at the Masters?
