Brooks Koepka's wife Jena Sims recently showed off her $150 Lakers hoodie supporting Los Angeles wildfire victims. The golfer's wife used Instagram to amplify the initiative. The 33-year-old has amassed 309k followers on the social media platform.
In the Instagram story, Sims shared an image of a white hoodie with the text "LA Strong" in purple font and the Los Angeles Lakers logo. She captioned the story:
"This is beautiful! Thank u @fanatics"
As per the Fanatics website, the hoodie is a collaboration with League partners and LA sports organizations. The proceeds will go American Red Cross and the LA Fire Department Foundation, supporting wildfire relief efforts in LA communities.
The Los Angeles wildfires have caused widespread destruction at the Palisades and Eaton Canyon. As per the New York Times, at least 27 people have been killed in the wildfires and more than 200,000 people have been displaced. As per USGS, more than 12,300 structures have been destroyed in the tragedy.
Jena Sims warns fans about donation scams during LA wildfire
Brooks Koepka's wife Jena Sims has warned her followers about the numerous donation scams during the LA wildfires. Last week, Sims took to Instagram and wrote:
"It's so hard to trust every donation link. I personally donated to a friend of mine who is hand-delivering supplies to the CA fire victims," Sims wrote on IG.
In another post, Sims shared a picture from the Los Angeles Times showing a burning home in flames with firefighters in action. In the harrowing picture, she wrote:
"This is just beyond devastating 😩😭🙏."
Further, in another story, Sims had reshared Stoney Clover Lane's post asking brands to contribute to relief efforts by donating more than 250 units of essentials such as clothing, makeup, skincare, or other products.
Sims has been married to golfer Brooks Koepka for over two years. the couple met each other for the first time years back at the 2015 Masters at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club. The duo share a one-year-old son Crew.
Recently, Jena Sims shared her yearly throwback of 2024 which showcased her numerous charity activities. In March, she hosted the Pageant of Hope event in Jupiter, Florida. The event is held by her organization to celebrate inner beauty among children with special needs and illnesses.
In April, she was a keynote speaker at the Bella's Angel Charity Gala, supporting children with lifelong physical disabilities. Later in April, she also launched a fundraiser during the Masters tournament in partnership with Little Words Project. The fundraiser was aimed at raising funds for the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at Children's Hospital of Georgia.
In August, she helped launch Palm Beach's first Inclusive Cheer Camp for children of all abilities. She ended the year by being an ambassador of Paley Orthopedic and Spine Institute in partnership with Unlimited Foundation which supports children requiring orthopaedic care.
