LIV Golf players Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka recently talked about a Ryder Cup-style event next year between LIV Golf and the PGA Tour. The duo said a competition like it would "draw the fans."

In a recent press conference ahead of The Showdown, the LIV Golf players shared their thoughts. The event will be held next week at Shadow Creek Golf Course in Las Vegas in which Brooks Koepka and Bryson DeChambeau will pair against PGA Tour stars Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy. Talking about the event and its future, Koepka said (via Sports Illustrated):

"I think the showdown is a great, a showcase for bringing the two tours a bit together and I think we're going to do next year."

Koepka said that with the help of such events, the best players from both the PGA Tour and LIV Golf would be able to compete more against each other. Koepka went on to say it would be a "LIV vs. PGA Tour Ryder Cup-style thing."

The nine-time PGA Tour winner further said:

"This is, this is growing into a, a big thing and I think that's what, that's what would draw the fans."

The Showdown will be held next week on Tuesday, December 17. The event will be broadcast on TNT from 6 pm ET.

Brooks Koepka wants to show "who the best players in golf are" at The Showdown

As the first unofficial event, The Showdown between PGA Tour and LIV Golf nears, Brooks Koepka said that he and Bryson DeChambeau were eager to show Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy who the best players in golf at the present moment are.

In the press conference ahead of the event, the five-time Major Champion said that the PGA Tour players would not want to lose and the LIV Team was equally competitive. He said (via Sports Illustrated):

"We don't want to lose. This isn’t anything other than just us being competitive and wanting to beat those guys and, and show them who, who the best players in golf are."
"I truly think you’ve got the biggest figure in golf in Bryson and then one of the (golfers with the) most majors. We’ve got a lot going on our side. We want to beat them, we want to showcase the world we’re the top two dogs.”

The event will be played for 18 holes with the first six being the best ball followed by six for alternate shot and six in which each player will compete individually.
