Bryson DeChambeau is dedicated to two things in the world of golf. The two-time Major champion is dedicated to getting better, which is why he's constantly trying new clubs, new techniques and more. He is also dedicated to growing his YouTube channel in a devoted effort to make the sport more interesting to younger fans.
His personal YouTube channel has seen a ton of growth. He himself has added a lot of popularity among younger fans in this journey, but his channel has been the center of it all.
DeChambeau has 1.7 million subscribers on the social media platform. For comparison, the PGA Tour's official account has 1.53 million. LIV Golf has 376,000. DeChambeau, on YouTube, is the biggest star in the sport.
This is not by chance. The LIV star has put a lot of time and effort into making this work. He said on the Joe Pomp Show (5:52 onwards):
"I oversee a lot of people working with me and for me... I have a full team. I won't give away the numbers, but it's getting into the double digits now... It's continuing to grow."
He continued (19:25):
"I've spent, well not spent, I've invested over $1 million on this... Am I making money off it right now? No."
He revealed that he got 1.5 billion views across all platforms last year for LIV, the Crushers GC and himself, and that the economic impact of playing for LIV as well as the fan interest helped him grow.
Bryson DeChambeau speaks on Mr. Beast-style videos
Bryson DeChambeau's YouTube content ranges from golf videos to sketches and even challenges. He went viral for trying every single day to hit a hole-in-one over the roof of his house, for example.
He's done challenges in the style of Mr. Beast, the most popular creator on the site. He said via Golf.com:
“Continuing to grow those platforms in the way we know how is something I’m keen on doing and I’m excited to do for the future. I think that’s where everything is going."
He continued:
"You look at what Mr. Beast has done, and there’s a few other super famous people right now — Jynxzi and Sketch — and they are growing their avenues and their aspects, and it’s cool to see the cross-platforming capabilities. Like these individuals coming and playing golf and seeing how much influence they have is really cool. It’s just another avenue."
Bryson DeChambeau's growth has continued over the last few months. He truly rose to dominance last year at the US Open with his clutch victory over Rory McIlroy, but he hasn't slowed down in subscriber growth since then. It's only continued, and the sky seems to be the limit for his channel right now.
