Bryson DeChambeau’s agent had a “shouting match” with NBC analyst following round 3 of the 2024 US Open

At the end of the third round of the U.S. Open, Bryson DeChambeau was leading, but things were not all that positive in his camp. According to a new report, the golfer's agent, Brett Falkoff, got into a heated verbal exchange with Damon Hack, an analyst for the Golf Channel.

According to Dan Wolken, the debate was focused on DeChambeau's coverage by the Golf Channel. The golfer is a star on the LIV Golf circuit, which means that he's an unpopular person among a certain demographic of golf fans.

DeChambeau, though, has put all the negativity aside in search of his second career Major and second win at the U.S. Open. He emerged triumphant in 2020, and after three rounds, he is in pole position to win again.

What happened between DeChambeau's agent and Damon Hack

The argument between Bryson DeChambeau's agent, Brett Falkoff, and Damon Hack, a reporter for Golf Channel, wasn't terribly lengthy, but it provided quite a bit of drama to conclude Saturday's golf.

Kevin Van Valkenburg, who first mentioned the report on the No Laying Up live show, stated:

“Bryson’s agent, Brett Falkoff and Damon Hack got into a big shouting match right behind 18 green as Bryson was wrapping up. And the gist of, which we could all overhear, all the media were sort of gathered there — this was not like a private conversation."

Falkoff continued:

"This was the two of them being very heated and continued into the parking lot. Saying, ‘You guys have talked a lot of s**t about Bryson. And you think now you can get whatever you want? I want to give him the option to decline the opportunity.'”

DeChambeau is extremely popular at the U.S. Open since he's the current leader and is playing sensational golf. This has led to him getting plenty of attention from media personnel, who are constantly on the lookout to interview him. However, Falkoff wants the golfer to avoid those media houses, which haven't always been kind to him. According to the agent, that includes the Golf Channel.

Jay Busbee, a Yahoo! Sports senior golf writer, confirmed the report on social media. Van Valkenburg clarified that DeChambeau had nothing to do with this exchange and that both parties were more or less respectful to each other.

Hack told Falkoff that he himself had been very fair to DeChambeau and that he doesn't represent the views shared by the Golf Channel. Falkoff hit back by saying that it doesn't matter because Hack sits next to Eamon Lynch, someone the agent believes has not been fair to his client.

Van Valkenberg also reported that this wasn't something that came from Bryson DeChambeau. It was more the golfer's team being protective of him. Falkoff is aware that DeChambeau's current dominance will garner a lot of media attention, but he does not want it from people who have previously been critical of him.
