US Open champion Bryson DeChambeau has announced that his new 'Break 50' episode will feature former US President Donald Trump. The episode will be released on YouTube on Tuesday, July 23.
Bryson DeChambeau, the two-time US Open champion, is also quite famous on YouTube. He runs a popular 'Break 50' series on YouTube where different known names play a round with him. This time, the guest is going to be the 45th US President as well as current Republican candidate Donald Trump.
On Monday, July 22, DeChambeau announced on X that the episode featuring Donald Trump was set to release on Tuesday. He added that $10K would be donated to Wounded Warriors for every stroke under par. He further revealed that President Joe Biden was also invited but he declined the offer.
Fans online had mixed reactions to this announcement. While many were excited to see the former President alongside DeChambeau, some fans expressed disinterest.
Here's a look at some reactions:
"Bryson stock has never been higher," one fan wrote.
"We don’t care," another fan posted.
"Bryson is really transcending the sport of golf at the moment with his YouTube channel," this fan commented.
"This will be the most viewed episode. Loved Grant Horvat’s 9 hole episode with Kai Trump," one user remarked.
"Did Trump carry his own bag? That was Joe’s stipulation," one fan posted.
"Didn't Biden say in the debate his handicap was exceptionally low? Yet he declined the offer. Guess he doesn't golf after all," one fan opined.
What's next for Bryson DeChambeau?
Bryson DeChambeau is set to compete at the LIV Golf UK which will take place from Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28 at JCB Golf & Country Club in Rocester, England.
After 10 starts this season, the 30-year-old golfer is fifth in the standings with five top-10 finishes. In the team portion, his team Crushers GC are leading with two wins and three runner-up finishes this season.
Outside LIV, DeChambeau had an incredible season in the four Majors. He had a T12 finish at the Masters Tournament which was followed by a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship. He also won his second US Open after a one-shot win over Rory McIlroy at Pinehurst last month.
A bit of a setback came at the Open Championship last week, where DeChambeau couldn't make a cut after aggregating at 9-over in two rounds. Nevertheless, the great run at the Majors has helped him surge to 9th in the OWGR.
