Scottie Scheffler took a sarcastic jab at Bubba Watson during the 2021 Zurich Classic. Watson played at the 2021 Zurich Classic with Scheffler and had his last outing at the event in 2022 with Harold Varner III. Following that, he made the switch to LIV Golf and got banned from PGA Tour events.
In an old PGA Tour video from the 2021 Zurich Classic press conference, Scheffler passed a sarcastic comment on Watson when the World No. 1 was asked about how he chose his playing partner.
“Bubba asked like eight or nine guys and they all said no and he waited for me. And then I waited about four or five days, texted a few guys and no one responded. So I said yes," Scottie Scheffler said.
During the same press conference, Watson added:
“That is pretty much it.”
Scheffler and Watson finished T8 at the 2021 Zurich Classic with a score of 16- under. The duo shot 64 in the first round with six birdies and one eagle on hole two. They scored 69 in the second round with six birdies and three bogeys.
In the third round, the golfers jointly scored 66 in the PGA Tour event with six birdies and they scored 73 with four birdies in the fourth round.
