Amid the election fever, Bryson DeChambeau was recently spotted wearing Donald Trump's trademark MAGA (Make America Great Again) hat. However, fans had mixed reactions to him sporting it.
The US election took place on Tuesday, November 5, and the whole country is eagerly awaiting updates on the new President. Amid this, DeChambeau extended his support to Donald Trump with a special gesture.
On Tuesday, NUCLR Golf, a popular golf tracking account on X, shared a photograph of the US Open champion wearing a dark MAGA hat.
Fans on the internet had divided opinions about Bryson DeChambeau's look. While supporters of the Republican leader praised him, Democrats were a bit critical. Here's a look at some of the reactions:
"Changes nothing. I despised him even before this display," one fan posted.
"Screw him," one fan wrote.
"Right when I thought I was starting to like the guy again he does this and back to the bottom with Sergio," another fan posted.
"He was already my favorite golfer but this seals the deal," one user commented.
"Makes me want to rethink him! Ok, no. Still not a fan since he jumped ship!" this user opined.
"I knew there was a reason he's my favorite golfer!" another fan wrote.
Has Bryson DeChambeau shot Break 50 with Donald Trump?
Bryson DeChambeau and Donald Trump share an amicable relationship. Recently, the former President appeared on DeChambeau's YouTube show Break 50. The video received more than 11 million views and became the highest-viewed episode on the golfer's channel.
Later, the two-time US Open winner praised Trump's game.
"Man, his iron play was great," he told Golf.com. "I can't tell you the number of times he stuffed it on the green within 30 feet in regulation. His driver swing is the most repeatable thing I have ever seen. I wish mine was that repeatable. Really, I do," he added.
The 31-year-old golfer also received a lot of criticism for playing with Trump, as some felt it was politically motivated. However, the golfer maintained that it was purely for content and to provide entertainment to the fans.
"From my perspective, it was focused on entertainment," DeChambeau said, as per Fox News Digital. "We can talk about politics — that’s a whole different conversation, something that I was not trying to do on my YouTube channel, it was solely on providing great entertainment."
Bryson DeChambeau will be in action at the first-ever Showdown, an exhibition faceoff between LIV and PGA Tour professionals. He and Koepka will represent the Saudi-backed circuit against Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy from the Tour.
