Charley Hull and her friend and fellow pro golfer Inci Mehmet took a cold bath on December 19. It's winter, and celebrities and athletes will often use this time to take ice baths or other cold excursions that help with various aspects of their physical health.
In this case, Hull was much calmer than Mehmet, who recently partnered with the English golfer to do a raffle supporting Great Ormond Street Hospital. Mehmet posted the video on Instagram and said:
"There are two kinds of people in this world."
Mehmet had to sing Christmas songs to be able to get through the grueling countdown in the frigid water while Hull calmly dipped much further down and didn't say a word. She kept a stoic look on her face as well.
Despite it being the offseason, Hull has continued to stay active. Cold baths like this are something athletes often do in the prime of their seasons as it's good for muscle recovery and inflammation. Hull is doing it now while she's not playing on the LPGA Tour.
She has also repeatedly posted Instagram stories of her practicing her golf at various courses across the world. The English golfer hasn't played since the season-ending CME Group Tour Championship but she's hard at work to maintain shape and form for the 2025 season.
Charley Hull on the worst thing in golf
Charley Hull doesn't like doing one particular thing in golf: making par. If she's not making a birdie or better, the golfer is not happy with the result. It's an aggressive mindset not mirrored by all golfers.
She said (via Golf News):
"I get bored on the golf course if I'm making pars. So, if I make a bogey I then use it as a challenge to then make a birdie it's just like tricking my mind."
"I've often been criticized for playing a bit too aggressively sometimes, but I'm quite an aggressive person on and off the course, if I'm honest. If I want something I'll go and get it. That's kind of my mentality."
There are two styles of golf: aggressive and conservative. Hull falls into the former category, taking harder shots to try and get birdies rather than safely remaining at par until a birdie opportunity presents itself.
This style of play hasn't yet landed Charley Hull a Major title. She believes it's coming sooner rather than later:
"As for my results in the majors, I feel that if I keep putting myself in contention, I believe that I can win a Major. The more I get used to being in those positions, the more I can relax and enjoy the situation, and hopefully that will bring a win."
Hull's best finish in a Major tournament is a solo second in 2023 at the Women's British Open. She also tied for second in the Women's US Open that year.
