Charley Hull did not play in the Grant Thornton Invitational and has not appeared in a tournament since the CME Group Tour Championship, where she tied for 16th. For her, it's the offseason. Despite that, she has hardly been able to stay off the golf course, opting to keep playing and working on her game to be ready for next season.
She shared a snap recently on her Instagram story, which she's done numerous times this year, of some practice the English golfer was getting in while not actively competing.
This time, Hull did so in a rather cold environment. She had to bundle up in a black wool coat and pants to keep warm while she took some swings at a scenic golf course.
Hull has been hard at work even on vacation, as her 706,000 followers can attest. They've seen more than a few Instagram stories of the golfer practicing or playing at various courses all over the place.
The golfer has sported various outfits in these snaps, but this time had to acquiesce with how the weather was. She didn't tag a location, but it was somewhere cold.
Charley Hull discusses newfound popularity
While she did not match the level of success Nelly Korda enjoyed, Charley Hull did get pretty close in terms of popularity. It all began after she went viral for smoking a cigarette while singing an autograph.
She said at the time via Golf.com:
"I genuinely was walking to the range, had my hands full, someone asked me for an autograph, I’m not going to say no because I always like signing autographs. Had a cigarette in my mouth, signed it."
Her popularity didn't end there, and it has her poised to be fully in the spotlight during the 2025 LPGA Tour season. She also said later:
“If you think I’ve got a lot of personality on the golf course, you should see what my life is like at home. But yeah, it is quite funny. I’m just me. You don’t know what’s coming out of my mouth next. I don’t know what’s coming out of my mouth next. It’s one of them things. I’m just me. I’m not going to change for the world. I’ll just be me, and people will either like it or lump it.”
The question now is whether or not her results can keep pace with her popularity. For Korda, she won numerous times and was the world number one, so her popularity was not outsized. Charley Hull, however, did not have any wins (she had five top-10 finishes) and is ranked 10th in the world.
