Charley Hull had an excellent outing at the Solheim Cup, despite a defeat for the European team. Hull was the top scorer for her team and even defeated world number one Nelly Korda in the singles match.
Hull seemingly did not take long to return to training following the biennial event. On Tuesday, September 17, the golfer shared an image of herself in the gym on her Instagram stories accompanied by the caption:
"No days off"
In the same picture, Hull shared her workout routine for the day, which was dedicated mainly to the treadmill. She wrote:
"10 sets of 300m 4% incline 10.5km-11.5 kmph. 300m no incline 9-9.5 kmph. 6 km total. Every 4 mins x 6 (24 mins)."
"Complete 500 row/run, 10 ddb snatch 8 burpees"
In fitness, row/run refers to exercises that simulate rowing a boat, while ddb snatch is a specialized exercise with weights. Burpee is a popular calisthenics exercise that involves full body movement in various jumps and positions.
Charley Hull played five matches during the Solheim Cup 2024, winning three and losing two (earning 3 points). Her singles win over Nelly Korda drew attention as the American had been in great form throughout the event.
Hull controlled the match against Korda from the start. She won seven holes to the American's one. The match ended on the 14th hole with the score 6&4 in favor of the Brit. However, her great performance was not enough to avoid Team Europe being defeated 15.5 to 12.5 by Team USA.
Korda had defeated Hull in the foursomes format on the first day. The American was paired with Allisen Korpuz and the Brit doubled with Esther Henseleit. Korda and Corpuz won 3&2 in 16 holes.
What's next for Charley Hull?
Following her excellent performance at the Solheim Cup, Charley Hull will soon be back on the LPGA Tour. The Brit has already confirmed her presence in the field for the Kroger Queen City Championship presented by P&G, which will be played from September 19-22 in Maineville, Ohio.
Hull finished second in the 2023 edition of the event, losing to Minjee Lee in a two-hole playoff.
After the Kroger Queen City Championship, the LPGA Tour season's schedule features nine more tournaments, including the second Asian Wing (with four events), the TOUR Championship, and the unofficial Grant Thornton Invitational. However, Hull has not yet confirmed her participation in any of these events.
Hull is also likely to play on the Ladies European Tour (LET), where she has played just four events in 2024. October will see the final two events of the Aramco Team Series tournaments (Shenzhen and Riyadh) in which the Brit is a regular presence.
