Annika Sorenstam's husband, Mike McGee, disagreed with fans saying Will McGee should have gotten more TV time and that it was Tiger Woods and his son, Charlie's show at the PNC Championship. Last week, 20 of the renowned golfers competed at the PNC Championship, held from December 21 to 22 at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club.
Tiger Woods and Charlie also participated in the competition and garnered significant attention. They took the lead after the first round and performed impressively in the second round, tying for the lead but losing in the playoff and finishing in second place. Charlie also caught people's attention as he made his first hole-in-one on the fourth hole during the second round.
Annika Sorenstam also played in the tournament with her son, Will McGee. Recently, Annika's husband, Mike McGee, took to his X account and wrote:
"To those who have said Will should get more TV time & it’s the “Tiger Charlie show,” I disagree. Tiger is the biggest name in golf & Charlie is a stud. Sam on the bag was awesome. They deserve it all & are always great to Will. He was shown plenty for us not being in contention."
The 2024 PNC Championship successfully concluded on Sunday, December 22. Team Woods tied for the lead with Team Langer. They competed in the playoff, where Team Langer managed an eagle while Team Woods settled for a birdie. Team Langer defended their title at the PNC Championship.
How did Annika Sorenstam and her son Will perform at the PNC Championship?
Team Annika had a decent outing at the 2024 PNC Championship. Will McGee was the youngest participant in the field last week, but despite that, he played some amazing shots.
The team started their outing with an impressive round of 62 on the first day. They shot seven back-to-back birdies on the front nine in the first round and then three more on the back nine for a round of 10-under 62.
Speaking of her opening round performance, Annika said, via ASAP Sports:
"Well, I like the way he putts, very aggressive and he feels very confident. He's a nice partner to have on the greens but also on the fairway, and today overall, we had a great time. The front nine, it just felt like everything was rolling in everywhere, and then obviously the back, maybe not as much. But we had a lot of fun together, and just so proud of him, how he has evolved as a player."
However, after a decent start, they struggled in the second round. Team Annika shot six birdies on the front nine and three birdies on the back nine in the second round for a 9-under 63. They settled in 11th place after two rounds.
