Fans were divided as LIV golfer Bryson DeChambeau congratulated PGA Tour player Xander Schauffele on his incredible victory at the recently concluded 2024 PGA Championship. Triumphing over DeChambeau by one stroke, Schauffele's win lands him his maiden Major.

The two golfers played fabulously at the event, competing neck and neck before Schauffele's ultimate victory. A rare picture shared by LIV Golf after the tournament on its official X account shows DeChambeau congratulating Schauffele on his win. The Saudi Circuit captioned the picture:

"Game recognizes game. Congrats to Xander Schauffele on winning the 106th PGA Championship."

Fans in the comments section were divided. Some praised DeChambeau for his generous behaviour, while others felt it was Schauffele's moment.

"Class move by Bryson," wrote a fan.
"It’s Xanders moment," commented another.
"Ahhhhh...how cute. In reality, Bryson misses playing in real golf tournaments," one fan remarked.

Bryson DeChambeau is the only LIV golfer who finished in the top 10 at the 2024 PGA Championship. Sixteen Saudi Circuit players participated in the event, but most struggled with their game. Former Major winners Jon Rahm and Phil Mickelson missed the cut at the Major.

PGA Tour players, on the other hand, played well, with Schauffele winning the event.

Bryson DeChambeau lauds Xander Schauffele on winning the 2024 PGA Championship

Xander Schauffele played well throughout the 2024 PGA Championship. He took the lead early in the game and maintained it throughout the four rounds. He set a record for shooting the lowest round in a Major on the first day of the Championship (Thursday, May 16) when he fired a round-up of 62.

Schauffele entered the final round in the top position, while Bryson DeChambeau was in fourth place. Both players performed well in the final round. Schauffele shot 65, while DeChambeau carded 64, the PGA tour player emerging victorious with the one-shot difference and clinching a first Major.

Following the event, the LIV golfer praised the winner while talking to the media, stating that Schauffele deserved the victory at the Major. Like Xander Schauffele's personal best, DeChambeau also recorded his best finish at the event.

“I gave it my all. I put as much effort as I possibly could into it and I knew that my B game would be enough. It’s just clearly somebody played incredibly well. Xander’s well deserving of a major championship," DeChambeau said. (via NBC Sports)

Bryson DeChambeau and Xander Schauffele will next compete together at the upcoming major next month. The 2024 US Open is scheduled to take place from June 13 to 16 at the Pinehurst No. 2 golf course.

DeChambeau played fairly well at last month's Masters, tying for sixth place. It will be interesting to see if he can win the second major of his career next month. He previously won the US Open in 2020.
