Collin Morikawa has put up two pieces of his custom golf gear for auction for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The World No. 4 has offered his fans an autographed $2500-worth autographed golf bag and a $700 headcover.
The custom FedEx-TaylorMade bag was used by Collin Morikawa during the 2024 FedEx Cup playoffs. The bag is made with upcycled packaging and TaylorMade gloves.
On November 7, Morikawa posted about the auction on his X (formerly Twitter) handle along with a video. In the clip, Morikawa can be seen talking about the TaylorMade bag in a FedExCup playoffs press conference:
"Yeah, a really special bag. What's so special about this bag in the next three weeks that I'm going to be using it at FedEx is going to be donating $1,000 per Birdie at Main for the playoffs."
In August this year, Collin Morikawa had pledged that he'd donate $1,000 for every birdie or better to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in three events of the FedExCup playoffs (via Golfweek):
“My wife is going to be running the New York Marathon, and we’re going to be trying to raise as much money as we can for St. Jude, so that’s her charity beneficiary for the marathon. I think everything that’s piling on, it’s all coming together, whether it’s FedEx and TaylorMade, St. Jude, ourselves, and my family," Collin Morikawa said.
In a recent post on X, he mentioned that FedEx has donated $56,000 for 55 birdies and an eagle. FedEx had earlier pledged to match Morikawa's donation of $1000 on every birdie by him in playoffs.
