Collin Morikawa started his 2025 season on a high note. He has shown incredible iron work at the Sentry in Hawaii, recording 30 consecutive green hits this week.

The US golfer even reached 52/54 green-in-regulations at the Kapalua Plantation Course. The PGA Tour record for the most green-in-regulations is 69/72.

Morikawa was seen doing "pre-set" practice before his iron shots at the Sentry. He explained this practice of his via the PGA Tour:

"I was kind of doing this little pre-set thing before a lot of my iron shots. Just kind of allowing the body to get to where it needs to be in the shot. It's been working which has been nice. It wasn't a two-day thing and then throw it in the trash."

He also talked about his struggles with back injuries and how he is dealing with them. The 27-year-old revealed what he told himself:

"I have gone through a couple injuries with the back. Just tweaking it a little bit here. I just had to tell myself that I can kind of rotate and stay in the position and that's all it's really doing. I am not even thinking about it. It's just saying, 'Okay, you know you are safe to go there. Just let it go'. And it's been nice to kind of see the cuts come back a little bit more with a little bit more space."

Collin Morikawa is currently placed second behind Hideki Matsuyama going into Round 4 of the Sentry. He is only trailing by one shot with a total score of 26-under. The duo is leading the rest of the pack by at least four strokes, with their nearest competitor Thomas Detry having carded 22-under.
