World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler has begun play in Round 1 of the 2024 Presidents Cup. In Round 1, fans will witness five fourball matches between Team USA and the International Team. While the play has already begun, controversy too has erupted involving Scheffler and the International Team players.

During the 8th hole at the Royal Montreal Golf Club, International Team players Sungjae Im and Tom Kim walked 60 yards away towards the 9th hole before Scheffler, who was matched up with them, could finish putting. This behavior by the International Team golfers was considered disrespectful by Paul McGinley.

He said:

"That's bordering on bad behavior. That's disrespectful in my opinion. I know it's competitive out there, but this certainly shows you there is an underlying edge here that it's not all fun and games."

You can check out the video of Sungaje Im and Tom Kim walking away before Scheffler could finish putting below:

Scottie Scheffler and his Team USA partner Russell Henley are leading Sungjae Im and Tom Kim through 11 holes. While Henley scored birdies on the first and sixth holes, Scheffler scored birdies on the seventh and tenth holes. For Team International, Tom Kim is the only one who scored three birdies in this pairing.
