Jay Don Blake received a sponsor invitation for the 2024 Black Desert Championship, which marked his 500th start on the PGA Tour. However, he failed to advance to the weekend at his hometown event.

Blake entered the inaugural Black Desert Championship with a special invite. On Thursday, October 10, he carded a 2-over 73 in the opening round, picking up two birdies but also making four bogeys.

The second round wasn't much better, as he shot an 8-over 79, bringing his aggregate score to 10-over. The 65-year-old golfer managed just one birdie while sinking six bogeys and a triple bogey. Although play was suspended before all players could complete their rounds, Blake will not proceed to the third round, as the projected cut line was set at 5-under.

Prior to this week, Blake had only played in the Barbasol Championship this year, where he tied for 60th place. Overall, his only win on the PGA Tour was the 1991 Shearson Lehman Brothers Open.

As of now, Stephan Jaeger is leading at the Black Desert Championship by one stroke. He shot 8-under 63 on Friday, October 11, to aggregate at 14-under. Adam Svensson and Ben Kohles are tied for second at 13-under.
