John Daly's 20-year-old son John Daly II is a professional and he will make his pro debut at the Compliance Solutions Championship. The tournament is a part of Korn Ferry Tour.
John Daly turned professional in 1987 at 21 and started on the PGA Tour. His son John Daly II walks in with a similar roadmap to professionally appear at the Korn Ferry Tour this week.
The 20-year-old is signed up for the Korn Ferry Tour's Compliance Solutions Championship, which will be held at the Jimmie Austin Ou Golf Club in Oklahoma. The event boasts a $1,000,000 purse and starts on June 20. On that occasion, Korn Ferry Tour's official Instagram handle posted a video of John Daly excited to watch his son play. He also confirmed that he wouldn't be present physically.
Daly II isn't a new name in the golf world. He previously showed up alongside his father at the PNC Championships. The duo rejoiced in the 2021 triumph and two-time runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2022.
Going forward, his golf exploits include playing eight events for Arkansas Razorbacks, where John Daly played from 1984 to 1987. Daly II has a 71.78 scoring average and is tagged redshirted. He mainly contributed to the team's triumph at the Palmas Del Mar tournament last season.
Added to that, the International Junior Golf Tour records say he had nine top-ten finishes between 2020 and 2021. This includes four first-place finishes. Prior to that, between 2019 and 2020, he recorded four top-ten finishes, including one triumph. He won ten times on the International Junior Golf Tour.
John Daly II lured a special deal as a teenager
In 2022, Hooters signed a NIL deal with John Daly II. Other than the 20-year-old, even John Daly shared a long-term partnership with the sponsor. Moreover, this feat became a huge achievement for him as an amateur. The father-son duo also endorsed the company during the 2023 PNC Championship.
“Hooters is thrilled to make our long-standing relationship with John official and to enter an exciting new venture with Little John as our first NIL ambassador,” said the company's marketing vice president of Hooters.
“John’s larger-than-life personality makes him an ideal representative of Hooters’ fun-loving spirit, while Little John will promote our brand to the next generation as one of the next big names in golf," he added.
In August 2022, John Daly posted a series of pictures of Hooters' promotion along with his son. The pictures showed John Daly and young Daly, along with Hooters models, in Fort Smith's restaurant branch. Before that, in May of the same year, Daly posted another photo with the Hooters family in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
The 20-year-old previously took part in six tournaments in 2024, with his best performance being seventh-place finishes at the New Year Invitational and the Palmas Del Mar Collegiate.
